A maita'i roa week

 It has been a very good week! This was our last week en français and Monday marks the first day in TAHITIAN!

Not going to lie, I am pretty anxious about this language shift. I knew a little french going into the MTC, but I know absolutely NO Tahitian, as shown by the fact that I spelled "iaorana" wrong last week in my email. I often wonder if it is even possible for someone like me to learn two languages at the same time. However, this week, Sister Staker shared D&C 42:6 with me.
"Ye shall go forth in the power of my Spirit, preaching my gospel, two by two, in my namelifting up your voices."
I know that with God, I have the POWER to learn Tahitian, even if I still can't roll my r's and have absolutely no clue about where to start with my studies. God is all powerful and I know that through His Spirit, I will have the power to learn Tahitian and French.
Because it was our last week in French, we had to say goodbye to our lovely French teachers. It felt weird- all of my district is staying together for the long haul of 9 weeks but all of a sudden we will have new teachers.
I feel a little like
{gif of Flick with his tongue on the pole. "Don't leave done, don't leave me, come back!!!}
{Pic of Ralphie. "What are we going to do?" "I don't know! The bell rang!"

(to explain this--- Emma, my sister, wants me to include our favorite movie references in my emails, so I made her send me pictures of our favorite line from Christmas story because it kind of felt appropriate.)
However, I am so excited for the Tahitian-language adventure I will be beginning. Whenever I hear it I can't help but smile because of how beautiful it is. I am sad to say goodbye to our French instructors but so excited to meet those who will teach us Tahitian for the next 3 weeks. We got to meet our Tahitian tutor on Friday and it got me PUMPED. It will be difficult and scary, but I know that I can do this!
On Sunday, I said goodbye to the wonderful Lexie Puffer before she left for Yakima, Washington. I was so touched by her light and kindness on Sunday and I know that her radiance will brighten the lives of so many!

On Tuesday, my lovely friend Hannah got her mission call and will be serving in OMAHA, NEBRASKA! I am so so excited for her and know that she will bless so many with her love and attention that she gives to all.

Aren't friends lovely? I love them.
We made crepes in one class and listened to French cafe music.

That's right. Soeur Day dropped her crepe on the floor.
Our zoom heart that amazingly turned out well.

And finally: We learned that Sister Livu can weave coconut leaves like no other. For a talent presentation, she showed us the things that she makes during her breaks, including an intricate flower and a windmill that actually spins. Soeur Staker and I had her teach us how to weave coconut leaves together Friday night for our companion study, except for neither of us have coconut trees in our backyard. We instead used paper and daylily leaves. It took her about 3 seconds to make a snake but it took me about 3 minutes. It was wild and really really fun.

Well that's all folks! Je vous aime! Ua hereau ia oe!
