SPACE WOIMS

 Hello! Iorana! Bonjour!

To explain the subject line, last week I had a conversation with my 4 year old cousin Nora. She can't say her "r"s and replaces the sound with "Oi!" It is pretty hilarious.
Me: "Nora say 'Earth worm'"
Nora: "Oith woim. But WHY are they called oith woims? Ahn't ALL woims from the oith? I haven't heard of any SPACE WOIMS!"
Remy, my 7 year old cousin: "have heard of space worms."

It has been a long, busy, hard, but blessed 2 weeks. As many of you know, my grandma passed away very unexpectedly on Memorial Day. It was sad and hard but I felt watched over that whole week. I felt like my French improved exponentially last week and I was able to feel a ton of love and support from others. Specific lessons felt tailored to my needs RIGHT THEN. I know that when we look for these tender mercies and little moments where people show they care WE WILL FIND THEM.
Last Saturday was her funeral. It was so good and beautiful and I loved getting to see family members that I didn't see before I started my mission and won't see until I get back. While it was sad to say goodbye, I know that I will see her again and that my grandma wants me to find joy and smile now. There is always joy to be found.
At the funeral, there was a snack room for the grandkids. Remy took a water bottle, filled it with gummy bears, let the gummy bears dissolve, and then proceeded to try to get others to drink his brown sugar water. Oh Remy.

This week marked the halfway point for my MTC! That's right we are almost 5 weeks in! We have one more week of français and then 3 weeks of Tahitian and then I am headed to.....

*drum roll please*

The California Riverside Mission!
Yes, I know that that is not how you spell "Tahiti Papeete." I got my reassignment this week and am so excited to serve in California! Sœur Day, a district friend of mine, is also going! We will finally get to meet in person after 9 weeks of zooming together every day. It was funny- all of my district got their reassignments LAST week. Except for me. My reassignment went to my stake president in Provo and not my current Stake President. The provo stake president never sent me my assignment and I finally had to ask around to get it. I wonder- if I never asked would I ever have known I was going to California until I got my flight information? Would it ever have been sent to me?

This week we learned a lot of French, which is good because that's the language I am trying to learn! We did an activity involving the names of clothing which left us with some fancy outfits.

We also made Book of Mormon skits in French. Said Néphi, "C'EST LABAN?!?!?"
My dad told my aunt and uncle who I will be staying with in a couple weeks that I "need to be walked." Oof. Ouch. Because of the mission, I cannot leave the house by myself, which means that my parents need to "walk me."  Ouchy.
ALSO
My sweet sweet companion Sœur Staker sent me CRUMBL this week! It made me so happy I could have cried. I love her so much. Life is good when you have cookies.
Well, that's all I can think of saying this week! Lot's of love for all of you!
