Smashboosh!
But anyway....
Yorana my friends.
I hope this week was good. We did à lot of work, saw many miracles, got stuck in traffic, and just barely got back from Papeete because we had to practice shaking hands and singing hymns as a mission. The fist bump culture here in French Polynesia has ruined me and I now have a limp noodle handshake.
We were in an English class with our favorite friends Tehaunui and Hereani, who are 10 and 11. We acted out sports and had the kids guess the sport in english! Sr Smith acted out one sport and the kids started yelling,
"SMASHBOOSH SMASHBOOSH!!!! It's smashboosh!!!! Sœur ma how do you say smashboosh in French?!?!? It's SMASHBOOSH!"
baseball
They were looking for the word for baseball.
Other events---
-Papi Reid taught himself how to pray in French. Very wholesome because he doesn't speak French but wants to be able to communicate with more people at church. Speaking of language learning, I felt that my Tahitian ability greatly improved this week. Something clicked and suddenly I could understand soooo much more. I still only understand 20% of what Papi Reid says because he mumbles and yells, all at the same time?? He's just really hard to understand, but the gift of tongues is real, progress is being made, and languages are being learned.
-Sr Smith had the idea to start singing as we do street contacting. This led to many really amazing miracles- many very special moments on the street where the Spirit was very strong. I am so grateful for her excitement and enthusiasm to do work and to make it fun.
-went to carrefour today and saw a thing of maybe 10 cherries for $40. Yikes
-I have officially been a missionary for 15 months! I was having a particularly hard day- frustrated and tired of our area and ready to just give up with French and Tahitian. At the very end of the day, Sr Smith and I walked out of our room to find that our room-mates had put up decorations and were doing a dance party to celebrate my 15 month mark. It was so so sweet and made my entire week.

I love you all! My parau poro'i/pensée spirituelle is a really amazing talk i read this week.
The First Great Commandment
