I have a new favorite missionary...
Sister Jorgensen may or may not have paid me to put that as my subject headline.
Bonjour tout le monde! Iaorana tatou!
I was on my morning run one day when suddenly I completely biffed it and fell down hard on my knees. Not the best moment of the day, but I did get a cool big bruise that is EXACTLY the same shape as the island of Moorea! #justislandthings #thinkpositive #optimism
Is this a sign for future transfers?
Last p day we went to the beach! It was very pretty, but mission rules prohibit us from touching the water. We are all just moana and our mission president is Moana's dad. Sigh. Anyways, we were leaning against a wall and I wondered how a bunch of eels got onto the wall because we were probably 20 feet above the water. Suddenly, a massive wave shoots up and gets me right in the nose. Salt water in the nose, hair, mouth...
(For the record the water touched me and I didn't touch the water. I am an obedient missionary)
Manulani got baptized on Saturday! It was a really awesome baptism! Amulek, her husband, baptized and confirmed her and it was super special.
Speaking of Manulani, a few weeks ago we found a couple named Manu and Nani (no relation between them and Manulani.) They are super cool and the Spirit was very strong during our lesson!
Seven weeks ago, on the first day of last transfer, Sr Young and I went walking around our neighbourhood and talked to these dudes named Ryan and Warren. We were at Ryan's house, but Ryan didn't have a phone and Warren didn't remember his phone number and didn't have his phone on him. We gave them copies of the Livre de Mormon and went off on our merry way. After that contact, we stopped by Ryan's a few times, but he wasn't very interested and we could never find Warren. We kind of forgot about them, not going to lie, and life went on.
Until this week when we went to our friend Norma's phone for a short visit. Warren walks out of the house and asks for a lesson. He has read a ton of the Book of Mormon and told us that it changed his life and that he wanted to learn more! Turns out he is Norma's son. It was cool that this miracle took 2 months to be realised. Heavenly Father is truly in the little details of our lives.
We went to a lesson at the very last house on the top of a mountain. After a 20 minute off-roading excursion with a member and his very trusty and reliable truck, we made it to the lesson. I don't think the friend is very interested but it was fun nonetheless AND a butterfly landed on my shoulder and stayed there for a while. 11/10
A quick mana'o from my étude personelle teie hebetoma: (after 3 hours of pure Tahitian yesterday, I have a headache.)
In Moses 1:39, it says:
For behold, this is my work and my glory—to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man.
In D+C11:20, it says:
Behold, this is your work, to keep my commandments, yea, with all your might, mind and strength.
God's work is our joy. We don't need to worry about the future because we can have the trust and confidence that He is there for us and that all things will work together for good for those that love God. However, OUR work is to try our hardest to follow God, to keep the commandments, and to be a good example.
That is all! I love you all! Je vous aime!
