A good old fashioned chicken pox party
Iaorana tatou!
This week was, yet again, à wild one.
Voila the events of this week:
1. Hymn no 69
We were teaching Sheeva, who is this absolutely adorable woman. At the end of the lesson we asked her if we could sing and she excitedly said yes! She told us that she had attended church when she was young with her friend and remembered liking one particular hymn. However, she remembered neither the melody nor the words.
Sr Young, inspired by the Spirit: "Hymn number 69?"
Sheeva, enthralled: "OUIIII!!!!!!!"
Sheeva, her husband and kids, and their best friend Vai all came to church sunday! It made our hearts happy. I love this family!
2. Transfer news!
Sr Young and I are staying in Mahina! I am really excited to stay. We decided that we will be brave this transfer and go street contacting in the mountains (literally just huge gated mansions). Wish us luck
Sr Paul was transferred to...
Rangiroa in the Tuamotus! Twas a wild weekend of packing and stress. We made a list of all the exotic foods Sr Paul won't be eating for a while, like barbecue sauce, and vegetables! Pray for her.
3. Tehaunui got baptized!
It was a really cute fun baptism. Tehaunui is 9 and is so adorable. He bore a very sweet testimony and I got to play violin at the baptism.
However,
At least 2 children at the baptism had chicken pox. The current case count is probably higher. An oof moment. Wash your hands children.

4. Our friend Anie fell asleep while on the phone with us. That is all. One moment we were confirming a lesson and the next moment snoring.
I will close with the words of one of my favorite hymns
There is sunshine in my soul today
More glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky,
For Jesus is my light.
[Chorus]
Oh, there’s sunshine, blessed sunshine
When the peaceful happy moments roll.
When Jesus shows his smiling face,
There is sunshine in the soul.
We get a whole lot of rain here in Mahina. On those rainy days, I have grown to love the moments of sunshine: of warmth and light.
The gospel can bring that sunshiney warmth into our life. We can be the means of bringing sunshine into the soul of someone else, when we serve and love and help others.
Je vous aime! Ua here au ia outou!
