Dear brothers and sisters, friends of the church, and the children:
hello.
Anyway, I hope you all had a wonderful week!
Last week We went on a hike in Papenoo valley and it was gorgeous. Sometimes my head can't comprehend how absolutely beautiful it is here. The one downside of the hike is that I had cleaned our car right before we essentially went 4 wheeling in the muddy mountains and rivers of Tahiti.

We had another amazing lesson with our friends Sheeva and Hono! We taught them about the Holy Ghost and how it feels. They immediately replied with "Yeah when you guys left last week you took the Spirit with you." I love how they are so open to the guidance and warmth of God's communication to His children. It takes humility to feel the peace and joy of the gospel. We love Sheeva and Hono!
We also had a fantastic lesson with Manulani and Amulek! And with Tapu! And with Stefan and Tina! We are very blessed in Mahina. Each of our friends helps me feel God's love that He has for His children. He has given light to each child and we can feel His love through the kindness, smiles, and laughter of others.
The biggest miracle is that Puaua got baptized! HΓ© is so incredible. After his baptismal interview, we were in a lesson with him and his friend Piniata. Puaua was just chilling in the background, fiddling around with his Book, not really paying attention. We invited Piniata to pray for a friend and Piniata replied "I don't have any friends."
Suddenly, Puaua was paying attention. He piped up and said "Hey!!!! I am your friend!!" Piniata was embarrassed, Puaua proud of himself. Hilarious.
Our bishop called us one morning. He told us that he had a friend that wanted to meet with us! Sweet! We love referrals!
"He wants to receive the lessons...
of how you celebrate the 4th of july in America."

Turns out his friend is the mayor of Mahina and wants to know how Americans celebrate independence day. He is not interested in the gospel, but instead is interested in potato salad and fireworks. We will hopefully meet with him soon and you can expect a grand 4th of July party in Mahina this year!
And we move on from the 4th of July to Halloween. We received lots of giant fruit this week, including 2 pamplemousses (grapefruits) the size of someone's head. They are huge. Yesterday we decided to eat one and I decided that the only way to cut it open was to carve it like Γ pumpkin.
My spiritual thought comes from Ulisses Soares.
"My brothers and sisters, when we truly are in awe of Jesus Christ and His gospel, we are happier, we have more enthusiasm for God’s work, and we recognize the Lord’s hand in all things."
Something that helps me stay happy is keeping Γ gratitude journal! Taking time to be in awe of our blessings truly does bring so much joy and comfort into our lives.
Love you all! Je vous aime! Ua here au ia outou!
