Ok Little Buddy
Iaorana et bonne année!
2022? That's not a real year...
Anyway, I hope you are having a wonderful, fantastic, and maita'i roa week.
I am still in Ontario, but I am now with the lovely Hermana Humphreys! She speaks Spanish but we are only in the English ward. Truly nothing can stop us in this English-Spanish trio.... except for Mandarin speaking families.
Our ward no longer has 4 missionaries. It is just us, and because of this change, our area doubled in size. It's been exciting to get to figure out this new side of Ontario.
A quick funny story:
I told Ron, a recent convert, that there would no longer be elders in our ward and that it would just be sisters.
A few hours later, he sent a message into our ward group chat that sounded a bit like this:
"I heard you all left me. I won't forget you."
A few minutes later, this random member replied, "Ron I haven't moved. I'm just out of town."
Ron ignored this and kept going about how sad he was that the elders were leaving.
"I guess I will be teaming up with Sister Hatch this week. All are gone except us."
That is when another member put the words "ok little buddy" into the chat.
I died. Ron, this 75 year old man, is too precious.
But enough about that.
Here are some cool miracles!
1. We had a door contact lesson with our new friend Marco! He is 13 and had been taught by the elders before they moved. He is super interested and really connected with the story of Nephi.
2. Rob and Rich said yes to being baptized!
We had an awesome lesson with Rob and Rich this week and they gladly accepted Baptismal invitations. After Rich said yes, we asked him why. He replied that it is because he wants to be happy!
This lesson was on Thursday. However, our excitement quickly died down as we saw that Rich has been faced with a lot of opposition and temptation since our lesson, opposition that has kept him from being able to contact us and go to church.
Here's the deal: the fact that some cruddy things happened after the lesson does not change the fact that the lesson itself was miraculous.
Too often, I think we forget our spiritual experiences because they are so quickly followed by opposition and temptation. This temptation makes us doubt if the miracle was even miraculous. Did it even happen?
Did Rich and Rob even feel the Spirit? Was the lesson even that great?
Hebrews 10 reads:
"But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise."
3. We met out friend Rhonda! She lives in our apartment complex and is super sweet and kind! We talked for over an hour and she then came to church on Sunday! I love her.
Well I think that is all! Hopefully some comical things happen next week. Pray for Rich and Rob and Rhonda and any other friends you may have whose names begin with the letter r.
Love you all! Je vous aime! Ua here au ia oe!
Get out in the sun this week
. If there is one thing I learned this week, it's that God sends us sunshine after a week of rain to lift our spirits

You scrolled down to the pictures without reading my email?
Too bad- you have to look at the picture of all the hair Sister Humphreys pulled out our bathtub drain.
