 Iaorana tatou!

This week, though difficult at times, was a week of miracles.

"For if we had not come up out of the land of Zarahemla, these our dearly beloved brethren, who have so dearly beloved us, would still have been racked with hatred against us, yea, and they would also have been strangers to God.
Yea, they were encircled about with everlasting darkness and destruction; but behold, he has brought them into his everlasting light, yea, into everlasting salvation; and they are encircled about with the matchless bounty of his love; yea, and we have been instruments in his hands of doing this great and marvelous work.
-Alma 26:9+15

I was thinking yesterday about how we are instruments in God's hands- instruments to share His love and light. This verse really touched me. I thought about all the people I have been blessed to meet on my mission and how my life would be completely different if I hadn't served. If I hadn't "come up out of the land of Zarahemla," so to speak, I would have never met Ismael, who showed me that the gospel truly changes lives through the power of the Atonement. Or Papi Reid, who gave me confidence to open my mouth and speak, even when I couldn't understand. Or Bill, who showed me the importance of scripture study and becoming friends with those around you.

God's plan truly is perfect.

You see, as I served and tried my hardest to be an instrument in God's hands, I had the opportunity to teach others and show them the light. I was blessed to teach others who had been waiting, who had been yearning to have the blessings of the gospel in their lives. I am humbled when I think about these people, for the chance that I had to be an instrument for them. I am eternally grateful.

"But Ammon said unto him: I do not boast in my own strength, nor in my own wisdom; but behold, my joy is full, yea, my heart is brim with joy, and I will rejoice in my God.
12 Yea, I know that I am nothing; as to my strength I am weak; therefore I will not boast of myself, but I will boast of my God, for in his strength I can do all things; yea, behold, many mighty miracles we have wrought in this land, for which we will praise his name forever.
13 Behold, how many thousands of our brethren has he loosed from the pains of hell; and they are brought to sing redeeming love, and this because of the power of his word which is in us, therefore have we not great reason to rejoice?"
-Alma 26:11-13
