*cough cough*
When I received the news that I would be traveling to Tahiti, I started saying prayers that went a little like this:
"If I have to get covid, please make it this week and not in February."
Well Brothers and Sisters, friends and family, God answers prayers.
I got covid.

Don't worry, however. I've been fine. I forced myself to take some naps and I don't feel super sick anymore. The combination of ibuprofen, naps, and no-bake cookies is scientifically proven to get you through just about any illness.

Missionary work still goes on even when you are stuck inside, so prepare yourselves for some amazing miracles!
I have been messaging Nancy off and on for several months on Instagram. This week, she wanted to do a video call! We talked about church, praying, and scripture reading. Social media work works!
We also spent a lot of time calling people. We were able to reestablish contact with our friend Gina and schedule another phonecall lesson for tonight!
Before our quarantine adventure, we stopped at a friend's apartment. We met him the week before and had set up a return appointment, but he did not show up. We decided to knock the entire apartment building across the street.
I learned that we were sent to that area not necessarily to teach the friend with the return appointment. Almost every single one of the doors answered and the people let us share scriptures.
We also met with Terry again (before we got sick). We met her last week on the street and she talked with us about family history for about 40 minutes. We came back to drop off some family history pamphlets, but she immediately invited us in and asked us to help her set up a family tree account. It has been way cool to see that God prepares some of His children to receive the gospel through family history. I am also very grateful for a companion who is super into family history work.
A quote from Wilford Anderson:
"The dance steps of the gospel are the things we do; the music of the gospel is the joyful spiritual feeling that comes from the Holy Ghost. It brings a change of heart and is the source of all righteous desires. The dance steps require discipline, but the joy of the dance will be experienced only when we come to hear the music."
People look very silly when they dance without music. It's weird to go through the motions of the dance steps of the gospel- praying, going to church, etc.- if we don't allow the music- the Spirit- into our life. Choose to invite the music in and dance!
Je vous aime beaucoup! Ua here au ia oe!
If you need people to pray for, please pray for Marice, the Mataeles, and the Asiatas! Marice is a member in my ward who is darling but has a lot of health challenges. Sister Mataele has been an amazing friend and example to me and her family has had several tragedies occur in their life this week. Prayer works and is one of the easiest ways to invite the powerful and sweet music of the gospel into our life
