One Year Older

Hello mes amis! Iaorana et Hola!

The "hola" is a foreshadowing to the adventures that are sure to come this week as I serve in the......

Spanish ward.

I don't speak Spanish. No hablo Español?

Isn't it kind of ironic? I feel like I am on a sitcom. Follow a girl as she tries her hardest to learn french and tahitian only to be put in a Spanish ward for a week.

Because Hermana Lander's lovely companion Hermana Bascom left for Ecuador today at 4 am, our areas are combining for a week so that everyone has a companion.

Please pray for me and my language ability.

This week was good!
One cool thing that happened this week:
We decided to call this number that we had for a woman named Mary that neither of us have met. She did not answer, but her nephew Xavier answered and he is interested in learning more! We had an amazing phone call lesson with him. It has been really amazing to see the miracles that can come from phone calling and social media work, finding techniques that aren't part of "traditional missionary work." I have been able to teach and find several people on Facebook and Instagram this week which is miraculous because social media work is hard. It is rough my friends, but I have really gained a testimony that God has given us phones and social media for good! We can use these platforms and our phones to spread the light of Christ! It is pretty amazing. Do me a favor and text your favorite scripture or quote to a friend! Spread the light and joy of the gospel! ❤

I also turned 20! Wow!
Thank you for all the fun birthday wishes. It was certainly a different birthday, but I was grateful for the chance to spend it serving.

Two quotes to round out this maitai rii (just ok) email:
"What shall we give in return for so much?
I invite each of us to consider this question. What shall we give in return for the flood of light and truth God has poured out upon us?"
-Dieter F. Uchtdorf (my birthday twin Apostle.)
"We can always remember Him by gratefully acknowledging His hand throughout our lives."
-Gerrit W. Gong (I don't know when his birthday is)

I have gained a strong testimony on gratitude this transfer. I may not quite hit my goal of writing down 1000 things that I am grateful for, but taking time each night to remember the good has taught me that God has not ceased to be a God of miracles. God has not stopped loving and blessing and caring for His children. When we look for the good, we will always find it for He is always there.

Pictures in whatever order they send!
