Fun fact: you need to go grocery shopping if you want food.
Let's start this email by talking about a strange fever-dream hike I went on.
We woke up last Monday at too-early a.m. and then left in the dark for a hike with our zone.
The second we thought we got to the top of the summit (and thus the end before we headed back), the member we were with said:
"And then we will go down this hill and then up this mountain and then up around there..."
For a second we thought it was a joke. It wasn't. After getting to the top of the mountain, we walked for another hour and a half before heading back down. The ugly Murrieta mountains made their comeback BUT! There were some pretty cacti and a cool field. So it was good in the end.
And then, our whole zone ate...
Oatmeal! And pumpkin pie!
Now, I am not against oatmeal in any way. I love it. However, oatmeal is the weirdest food for a group of 15 teenagers to eat. Add in the pumpkin pie, and it made for an interesting meal at 8 am.
Other notable things from this week:
1. We asked a member family to share something spiritual on social media. However, they are
against
social media. But they are awesome and their twelve year old son Mason who is absolutely precious shared a picture of the prophet on his pinterest board. A future missionary.

Sister Winkler and I had boba milk drinks. Sister Winkler was scared of the Boba balls. Everything she drank one she would shudder. It was pretty funny.
3. Sister Winks and I took selfies at a park. It was very fun and after our photoshoot, we went to a member's house to watch conference. The members told us they saw us at the park. To demonstrate us at the park, everyone in this family did the classic group-of-teenage-girls-pose- where-one-leg-is-kicked-in- the-air. My embarrassment was immeasurable.
4. We watched general conference! Woohoo! It was so good! I felt really sick this weekend which made it sometimes interesting (no worries everyone I am fine) but I did get cinnamon rolls so all is well.
I am now in Ontario! California, not Canada. Got to make that distinction. Similar to my situation in Murrieta, I could not point out Ontario on a map. It is somewhere in California I am sure.
Anyway, I am now here and am companions with a Sœur Day and Sœur Roberts.
It has honestly been very stressful and overwhelming today- I have not been able to take a solid nap all week even though I have been sick and I left Murrieta- but I trust and know that all will be well.
General conference was so good! I really loved Sister Sharon Eubank's talk. Something that she said was
"The essence of the gospel is contained in how we answer the question 'Do you love me' for ourselves."
I love that! Another thing that was said by Elder Renlund was that if we don't love others, people will know that we aren't disciples of Christ.
We answer the question of "do you love me" by loving others and treating them with compassion and kindness. We answer that question when we treat others with patience and love.
And I love you!
Je vous aime and ua here au ia outou.
Nana! Au revoir!
Sœur Hatch
(I also loved the story about Tahiti in conference. Speaking of, I am working on my visa paperwork! If any of you have information that would keep me from getting a successful police background check, please be silent. Jk jk... but not really)
1. An attempt of a jumping selfie.
2. The Taj queenz (our apartment is nicknamed the Taj mahal.)
3. Winks!
4. Winks!
5. Us! (It has become clear that i should take pictures other than selfies.)
6. You wish you were us.
7. You wish you were as cool as me playing cards.
